The new debut album, "Stars and Fire" from Shawn Nourse delivers an otherworldly ambient/electronic hybrid music that leans toward cinematic yet emotionally intimate. In making this album, music creator/producer, Nourseman (the sole artist behind Stars and Fire) has created a warm sonic tapestry from luminous melody, elegant piano, ingeniously crafted rhythms, infused percussion, and electronic elements.

Nourse's tasteful maneuvering of mood and tone lends "Stars and Fire" on a journey-like quality, although the album offers many variations with pieces like "Recurring Landscape" (evolving drones of melody and texture) to “Peace With You” (lilting piano, airy atmospherics, and a tremolo support bassline) or “Marble Priest” (featuring huanting harmonies with glimmering expanses of sound). Built from both electronic experimentation and live instrumentation, Stars and Fire constructs detailed textures by drawing from a select pallet that ranges from- Moog, samplers, synths, found percussion, and various recorded environmental noises.

Originally from Kansas City and a longtime resident of Southern California, Shawn Nourse has had a successful career as drummer, a studio owner, and recording engineer/producer. By maintaining a musically active life and wearing several creative hats, Nourse has created his own distict voice from a unique vantage point and from which he's created a truly enchanting debut solo release.
